Fire in the Mountain is a 1000 capacity small festival on a beautiful farm in Mid Wales. The festival raises funds
for the renovation of this beautiful farm into an outdoor pursuits venue.
History of the Festival
Now in it's third year, the festival, Fire in the Mountain, was conceived by the farm-owners and their friends as a
means of regenerating the farm and finding new uses for the ancient stone outbuildings and beautiful oak forest.
Through a series of “working weeks” utilising volunteers from across Wales and the Country, the run down farm
was transformed. To generate the funds necessary for the initial refurbishments and to generate interest from
volunteers, we decided to stage a small event.
The festival is run and managed by a dedicated team of volunteers from artistic communities based in London,
Liverpool and Wales.
will feature performances from a host of local bands; Jamie Smith's Mabon, Allan Yn Y Fan, The Gentle Good, a
Mari Lwyd procession, local crafts market, and a Welsh Food feast.
The Farm
Cwmnewidion Isaf houses 10 locally owned horses and a small pig farm throughout the year. It is the intention
of the farm owners to, over the coming years, renovate and refurbish the farm buildings, with a view to installing
a bunk house, kitchen unit, showers, and water mains into the camping field, to encourage camping weekends for
schools, charities and for commercial uses.
